I love parties - it's as simple as that!! I love planning the theme with my children, designing the invitations, making the decorations all combining to make the party super special.
Parties don't have to be expensive - let your inner child loose and dream, dream, dream. Think outside the box and get creative. I hosted a cowboy's party for my son's 6th Birthday last year. I borrowed some hay bales from a friend, made some checked bandanas, drew some cowboy boots & made a "welcome cowboys" sign out of cardboard (which the boys help paint), bought some blow up cactus', borrowed some ride on horses, made lolly boots..... the list goes on. Did I go to extremes? I think not. My boys loved the fact that they were part of making the celebration come to life and they had some great idea's. (I drew a line at shooting water bombs with a toy gun!!!)
The only thing that frustrated me was the lack of range in invitations. Invitations set the scene. It gives an insight into what the celebration is all about - child's party, 18th, 21st, formal, casual .... and it got me thinking. If I can't find an unusual and beautiful invitation there must be other people out there with the same problem. Mum's don't have the time to go into each and every shop that may stock invitations.
